Earthlock: Festival of Magic

Role-playing game inspired by the classic 3D RPGs of the late 90’s, with a fresh take on turn based combat and character progression.

Earthlock: Festival of Magic is a role-playing video game being developed and published by the Norwegian company Snowcastle Games. Desert scavenger Amon soon finds himself in his life’s adventure when he crosses paths with a most peculiar creature back home in Zaber. Join Amon and other remarkable heroes in this turn-based fantasy RPG, on an unforgettable journey across the world of Umbra; a mysterious, beautiful but harsh planet that stopped spinning thousands of cycles ago. The game will play as a non-linear role-playing video game with turn based battles. In combat, characters fight in pairs – a “warrior” and a “protector”. The warrior uses consumable items such as ammunition, while the protector can perform spells like healing and shields. When the characters are damaged by enemies, they accumulate support points, which can be used to activate other moves. A tribute to true turn-based RPG fans, Earthlock: Festival of Magic will test even the most strategic of players.

Earthlock: Festival of Magic Reviews:

7 Total Score
Good

Looks good, plays well and it's quite fun. It's not unforgettable, but there aren't many RPG games like this, so make sure you have a look at it. The strong points include character advancement, the village, enemy variety, tactical combat and crafting. There is so many various setups to try that works different. Good difficulty on the most of the bosses. For anyone who has sacrificed hundreds of hours to the altars of Final Fantasy Explorer, Bravely Second: End Layer and worthy titles like Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, Earthlock: Festival of Magic is an essential purchase.
