Superb

Subnautica: Below Zero is being created by Unknown Worlds, a small studio that traces its roots back to the 2002 Half-Life mod Natural Selection. It is the same team that created the original Subnautica. This company is honest about the state of the game at it's release, it does not pay streamers to make it seem more playable than it was. This company is known to work hard, work at a good pace, and product a finished product that is nothing short of amazing. The game is, indeed, still very pre-release. But even though it's still small, many things don't work yet, the Subnautica basis is definitely there. At the start of the game, I was surprised to find I could not use anything at all. Thankfully, as the game continues, things become clearer and you don't really need the stuff in the base. The Art team has done a fantastic job on capturing the wonderment and imagination of the base game. The arctic was a great choice of setting, and the environments and creatures all have wonderful new designs on the new ones, and fun twists on some returning. The characters introduced seem interesting, and the player character has a nice dynamic with their counterpart on the orbiting space station. The new lifeforms and biomes are BEAUTIFUL, although currently there appears to only be 3 biomes that appear at least, to be finished. If you are a fan of the previous title go for it, but just realize you wont get the full experience and may ruin your immersion by not waiting for the full release. If you've never played Subnautica or are just seeing SubZero, do yourself a favor and go buy Subnautica 1, you wont be disappointing.
