Mages of Mystralia is an indie adventure game made by Borealys Games. The game is set in a lively fantasy world in which you can design your own spells. You play as Zia, a young woman who discovers that she has been born with an innate sense of magic. Unfortunately, arcane powers have been banned from the kingdom, forcing her to go into exile and learn the ways of magic. The people of Mystralia may not realize it, but their fate is in her hands! You will face down giant, powerful creatures and navigate treacherous terrain. You will encounter puzzles that confound even the wisest of the old sages. And you must overcome obstacles put in place by people who do not want you to succeed. The story was written by bestselling author Ed Greenwood, creator of the Forgotten Realms fantasy world for Dungeons and Dragons, which served as the basis for games like Baldur’s Gate and Neverwinter Nights, as well as about 170 fantasy books.

Mages of Mystralia Review
Mages of Mystralia is a short yet packed adventure game that is reminiscent of Zelda in many ways. Zia, an apprentice mage is tasked with going around solving issues as she matures, slowly mastering the four types of magic through runes. The adaptability of the spell creation is fantastic. This is reason alone to love this game. The intuitive yet powerful spellcrafting system will enable you to design a nearly limitless number of spells to solve puzzles and combat enemies. You start with a basic set of three spells, then unlock modifiers to make those spells do other things like adding movement or direction, or chaining spells together. The puzzles work really well to increase your creativity with spells creation. The art is radiant, pleasing on the eyes and is accompanied with nice cleansing music that soothes the player in a great way. Overall, a great game, with amazing mechanics, bosses, and a storyline.
